The Sequoia Project

Mrs. Davis has >25 years’ experience in the healthcare industry with an emphasis in the conformance testing, implementation, development, and management of information technology solutions and healthcare workflow requirements. She serves as the VP, Informatics, Conformance, and Interoperability for the Sequoia Project that is a 501©3 not for profit organization based in Washington, DC. Her expertise includes connecting people, processes, and technology to improve health care. She is responsible for driving the interoperability among health IT systems participating within the Carequality framework, the eHealth Exchange network (formerly known as the Nationwide Health Information Network – NwHIN), the RSNA Image Share Validation program in partnership with the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) and PULSE managed by Sequoia.

Mrs. Davis is nationally known as a subject matter expert for healthcare standards, interoperability design and strategy for all healthcare stakeholders within hospitals, ambulatory practices, health information exchanges and vendors deploying health information technology to improve patient safety and quality of care. She volunteers in several roles nationally and internationally. She serves on the Tennessee HIMSS Board as the Health Information Exchange (HIE) liaison since 2010. She also serves on the IHE International Board of Directors since 2007 and within various committees and joint collaborations including the HL7/IHE Project Gemini Steering Committee to try to encourage the use of HL7 FHIR for exchange of health care knowledge and information.
